Presentation Learning Objectives:
Define Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), including diagnostic criteria and symptoms
Provide practical guidance for minimizing nutritional risk and maintaining quality of life for EoE patients along the lifespan.
Discuss therapies for EoE including medications, biologic therapies, and diet elimination.
Alison Cassin, MS, RD, CSP, LD
Alison is a board certified specialist in pediatric nutrition, dedicated to the nutritional management of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and food allergies at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She has written and presented on the nutritional management of food allergic disorders at local, national and international meetings. Alison was the recipient of the Melanie Hunt Dietitian of the Year award in 2018.
Previously a bench chemist in research and the food industry, she left the laboratory to pursue Master’s degree in Nutritional Science from the University of Cincinnati. For this reason, Alison brings a unique perspective to nutrition counseling, specifically regarding food ingredients, manufacturing processes and culinary applications.
